Having survived a 2012 crash that sent their tour bus plummeting 30 feet off a British viaduct, sending band members and other passengers to the hospital, the smart Georgia sludgers get automatic resilience points on their fourth color-coded album. A new rhythm section puts ragers like “The Iron Bell” and the elephantine “Desperation Burns” over the top, while the dirgier “If I Have to Wake Up (Would You Stop the Rain?)” seems to obliquely address the accident. And there are enough placid, hopeful changeups -- sundry choogling song intros, plus the rustic instrumental “Fugue” -- to keep things interesting.
