Label: Vice Music
Vice's pet garage-mock-rockers ditch the lo-fi scrum and gimmickry to deliver 12 catchy songs in just over half an hour. Underneath the Rainbow is filled with indifferent vocals, concrete riffs and even a melody or two, like the organ-soul shuffle "Dandelion Dust," which miniaturizes Gary Glitter's infamous beat and waits 'til the end to throw in some elf-chanting. But the highlight here is nasty doom-rocker "Do the Vibrate," with its addictively dark riffage and gleefully masturbatory chorus: "Put your phone in your crotch/ Set it on vibrate!" More pranksters should be so lascivious.
