A smidge less R&B, this LP dips more into Norful's Sunday side. Organ, trumpets, sermonic lyrics, and background vocals retain church choir fatness. Smokie's all over the map with impossible note combos, energy that wears you out just listening, and a soft gospel beckoning that competes with Larnelle Harris ("Worthy," "God is Able"). Funky, soulful, prayerful.
