Amazingly, it took this country power couple 21 years of wedded bliss to put out an album together. But appropriately and perhaps inevitably, it’s mostly music to make out to, starting straight from the piano-escorted marriage-proposal-waltz title track, destined to be a first dance at weddings for, well, the rest of our life. She’ll stand by him even as his waistline expands and hair grays, Tim tells us in a falsetto that’s still intact – sweet high notes that return amid the mid-‘70s-style roller-rink r&b of “Roll the Dice” at album’s end. “Telluride,” about a road (and maybe ski) trip to Colorado, grows some Bobby McGee-bandana’d hippie funk of its own, and “Devil Callin’ Me Back” is some comparatively tough blues about yielding to temptation. But most of the album revels in romantic duet-ballad schmaltz – most luxurious for the two instrumental easy-listening minutes that end “Cowboy Lullaby,” and most lustful in “The Bed We Made,” about monogamous suburban sex making life “damn near perfect on the culdesac.”
