On singles like "Inspector Norse" and "Strandbar," Norway's Todd Terje proved himself a master of sleek, slightly insouciant disco. He keeps the good times coming on his debut album, which bumps and wriggles like some imaginary collaboration between Giorgio Moroder and Dr. Seuss, but the best songs leave behind the dancefloor in favor of more exotic settings. Exotica figures heavily in his 7/4 funk and easy-listening grooves, while "Svensk Sas" revisits Swedish salsa from the '70s. The highlight is a melancholic cover of Robert Palmer's "Johnny and Mary," featuring a wizened Bryan Ferry.
