Weezer's ninth album shows the band back in fine form. Everything Will Be Alright in the End is mostly free of novelties -- there are no songs confusing "socks" with "sex," or namechecking Audioslave and Rage, for example. First single "Back to the Shack" is the less self-conscious version of "Memories," with garage-y production to match its lyrics and a chorus as catchy as "El Scorcho." But the runaway standout is "Go Away," a gorgeous duet with Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino that honors both classic Weezer and Cosentino's own signature '60s pop harmonies.
